City tax collection increases

He also stated that there was also an increase in its business permits and licenses revenue from the target collection of Php68 million to Php90 million, an increase of 26 percent.

 For the service income, on the last quarter only, the city recorded an increase of 37 percent from the target collection of Php6.3 million to Php8.66 million and its business income as early as October had reached Php52.60 million.

“This achievement is the production of effective legislation, implementation and collection of revenue. The city government is confident that through its extensive campaign, the revenue collection will even increase more this year,” Reyes said.

He further stated the effort is part of the city government’s thrust of raising more revenue to finance various projects, programs and activities which enable service delivery improvement in the city.

The official also urged public to pay their taxes promptly to serve as contributory to the development as their taxes go to development projects of the city.  (OTB-PIA2/Cagayan)
